About Entertainment Cairns
A number of prominent members of the music and arts community in Cairns formed a partnership to create the unique Entertainment Cairns website.
The combined backgrounds of the founders of Entertainment Cairns include:
musicians; artist management; event management; web design in cairns; studio recording; media & promotions; and entertainment industry advocacy. The founders are committed to revitalizing live music and performance in the Cairns region.
Stemming from the need exposed by the community advocacy group: People Advocating Live Music (“P.A.L.M.”) who publicly launched a campaign to support live music and entertainment in the Cairns Region in February 2008. The partners saw the need to create a sustainable central hub of entertainment information for Cairns and the surrounding region, and so EntertainmentCairns.com was born.
Entertainment Cairns has these goals:
- Promote entertainment in the Cairns and surround region.
- Build interest of audiences and encourage people to attend all forms of live performance in our region.
- Create easy access to accurate, quality information provided by the artists, venues and promoters.
- Provide a website with cross links and developed search capabilities and the ability to print a summary of the gig guide.
- Increase opportunities for artists and venues to promote themselves and help sustain their businesses and our live performance industry.
- Measure how Entertainment Cairns has impacted on their business.
