BigBand/Jazz/Funk Big Band

The After Hours Big Band (or AHBB to our friends) is a collection of Cairns-based musicians playing music arranged in a big band style. The band is styled after the large jazz ensembles that dominated American popular music in the period 1935-1945. Our large lineup gives us the flexibility to produce a wide range of repertoire, from jazz to funk and rock, from sensitive ballads to show tunes and film, theatre and television soundtracks. Our musicians are extremely proficient with our respective instruments and capable of high-level performance and we are passionate about the music we play!
