Cairnsbands

Jazz, Classical, Rock, Musicals, Film & TV Concert Band

The band was first formed in 1995 as part of the Cairns Municipal Band. The organisation is now known as Cairnsbands and includes:- The Cairns Concert Band, Tropical Brass and Cairns Youth Stage Band.

Travel is no problem for the band although we currently have 42 regular members playing instruments from Piccolo to Timpani. The band regularly performs in and around the Cairns district accompanying many singers and solo artists. We are expanding our horizons and travel from Port Douglas to Innisfail and plan on joining 1RAR for a concert in Townsville in the near future.

We play concerts to support schools in the region, just not Cairns city, but other council areas also. Yearly we play for JCU graduation.

The concert band is the premier concert band in the Far North. We perform with the 1RAR Military Band each year as well as combined concerts with the Hotshots and Cairns Concert Orchestra.
