Carinda Christie is an emerging indie artist taking her solo show around the country. Carinda made a name for herself playing with bands in North Queensland and went solo at the end of 2000 .

The first year of her solo career was a complete success. She performed at the Aquarius Festival in Tasmania and finished the year at the Woodford Folk Festival. In between playing at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane amongst other high profile events. The past few years have found Carinda performing more Festivals (Palm Ck Festival, Wallaby Ck Festival and Yungaburra Festival to name a few). Supporting some big name acts (Wendy Matthews, Grace Knight) to the opening of the Cairns Esplanade, playing for the 60th Anniversary of ABC Radio’s Country Hour broadcast Australia Wide and being a finalist in Freshair, ABC Radio.

Her repertoire of diverse energetic originals is a folk/pop/rock and blues combination. Carinda Christie's act is all acoustic. She sings, plays acoustic guitar, Dobro slide and stomp box and lights up the show with humourous and entertaining annecdotes about life and music.

Professional, enCD Releases
Carinda Christie is a prolific songwriter. She released her 4th album, “CloseUp” - an acoustic feast of new songs, re-releases and covers - in February 2002. This album comes a year after “As I Am”, which has sold steadily at gigs, via mail order and at record stores around the country. Tonight and No Imitation from this album have received airplay on local, national and community radio stations Australia-wide.
Due to Carinda’s rising profile, her first two albums, “Life & Times” (1994) and “Blast Off” (1996) have also received renewed attention.
Her latest album released in 2005 “Blue Mumma” with the introduction of the Dobro slide guitar. Drums by Mr Ben Hakalitz (Youthi Yindi) and Bass Guitar extrodinair Mr Giles Smith (Dragon, John Williamson) have jelled together to create a winning sound. The songs show maturity and heartfelt personal life experiences by Carinda.

Influences
I listened to alot of Country and Elvis when i was younger as thats all my mother listed too, i also had a splash of Jazz when i would spend time with my father. As i got older people requested Janis Joplin so i became a fan as i grew to love her, than there is Joan Armatrading, Bernard Fanning, and a mixture or 80's artist whom i grew up listening to, you could not say that they did not influence me in some way.
