Mabel Eve, Slinky Sil
and
The Hot N Wet Quintet

Cross Dressing Cabaret of the Jazz Age

Mabel Eve and Slinky Sil are the alter egos of performance artist Zelda Da, who cut her teeth in cabaret way back in 1986. Leaving her Melbourne home, she has performed song, comedy, vaudeville and magic in venues from Hong Kong to Paris, Kumasi, Athens, Berlin, Jakarta, Tuvalu and East Timor. Now, Zelda's bringing it all to FNQ with a new show that shakes the sauce like a monkey on acid.

Zelda is joined by local legends Dave Breeze, Dave Hart, Emmaline Anderson and Andre Baudet. Together, The Hot N Wet Quintet pump out raunchy blues and sassy swing songs from the speakeasy halls of the twenties and thirties: Mae West, Fats Waller, Lois Armstrong, Sophie Tucker, Ethel Waters, Duke Ellington, Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, as well as big band numbers.

The Hot N Wet Quintet is more than music, bigger than bossanova; it's a cabaret show complete with comedy stylings, old time story telling, and sexy syncopation. First dressed first as men, the Hot N Wets wow the ladies and lady-boys, lulling the girls into a sense of gay abandon. Next set, dressed as women, the Hot N Wets seduce every last gentleman in the joint, be they bold, butch or beautiful.

Mabel Eve and Slinky Sil perform solo at intimate clubs and private affairs in the Austronesian region, or can be hired with the Hot N Wet Quintet for all your dancing and romancing needs. For an intimate occasion, we perform as a trio, The Hot N Wet Swing Set. For a fully lubricated function, we can even become a sextet, septet or wild octet.
