Kid Ryo grew up playing AFL untill he started living with his father Ric Montgomery at the age of 13. Ric started and managed Johno's Blues Bar, the best Blues Bar in QLD (I'm Sure alot of people would agree) The Club use to have American Blues Bands every second week ! Kid Ryo had to stay at the club till 2 or 3AM sometimes because Ric was the House Guitarists, but all those late nights were worth while, seeing guitar legends like, Phil Emmanuel, Eugene 'Hideaway Bridges, Bondi Cigars, Lil Charlie and the Night Cats, and massive amounts of great Musicians!

In his five years of playing he has played with Phil Emmanuel, Johnny Nicole, Adam Hynes Johno's Blues Band, The Montgomery Brothers, Brittni Paiva, and at Many Festivals and Radio Stations around the Country. Now Currently endorsed by Recording King Guitars, and G&L Guitars.
Ryo never has a disappointed audience, they are always left with a bad case of Jaw Drop with his virtuosity on the fretboard and interesting originals. Kid Ryo Plays in the style of Tommy & Phil Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, George Benson, Brad Paisley, Joe Robinson, Ric Montgomery, and many other Jazz/Blues/Country greats !
