Nestled in the cool hills above the tropical Queensland coast the Kuranda Amphitheatre is a sculptured botanical site set in rainforest gardens with grass terraces that hold up to 3500 people. One of Australia's most beautiful venues, it is just 30 minutes from Cairns and its international airport. The Kuranda Amphitheatre is a multi-purpose venue suitable for theatre, cinema, opera, festivals, seminars, workshops, circus, dance and live music.
The Kuranda Amphitheatre has been host to the best in local, national and international entertainment over the past 28 years including The John Butler Trio, UB40, Xavier Rudd, INXS, Missy Higgins, The Waifs, The Wailers, Slim Dusty, INXS, Silverchair, Jackson Browne, The Cruel Sea, Lee Kernaghan, and annual events including The Kuranda Roots Festival and the 1st Motorcycle Expo.
As well as our open air Amphitheatre, we also have a smaller more intimate setting in THE UNDERSTAGE, which has a capacity for an audience of 250, where we have hosted many wonderful gigs including Carinda Christie, Zennith, The Funky Love Tank, The Wishing Well, and many more.
