JULIE McLAUGHLIN


Born in England, Julie was the daughter of a ‘Big band’ connoisseur whose passion for music played a huge part in her early musical education. Growing up, she was immersed in the music of all the greats, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra,Nat King Cole, Nina Simone to name but a few, music was always destined to play a huge part in her life. She began playing Clarinet at 9 years old and was featured vocalist in many musical productions.


Now living and working in Australia for the past 18 years, Julie is a versatile, dynamic, professional entertainer and acclaimed vocalist with an ability to transcend many genres from the Smoothest Jazz & Swing, Latin, Blues, Sultry ballads through to modern covers.


JIM BLACK


Born and educated in New South Wales, Jim played piano from the age of 9 and was performing to live audiences at the age of 13.

A talented Pianist & keyboard player, vocalist and accomplished Band Leader whose musical career has taken him throughout Europe and extensively into the top venues in Sydney and Brisbane.
Jim has played with the best musicians in the country and accompanied legends John Farnham and Shirley Bassey.

Jim & Julie formed Duo ‘Out of the Blue’ in January 2004 which has proven to be an amazingly successful partnership.

Together, they perform at Corporate functions and events, and now spend part of their year entertaining aboard luxury International Cruise liners.


They released their 1st CD titled ‘’A Song for you’ in early 2006 and have written and produced a ’Tribute Show’ to the songs of legendary performer Shirley Bassey, which they are now performing as a Headline show aboard International Cruise ships to excellent reviews. In conjunction, they released their 2nd Cd titled "A tribute to the Songs of Dame Shirley Bassey" which showcases 18 of her most popular songs. They have since recorded their 3rd album 'NightMoods' a compilation of 12 of their favourite 'chillout' songs.

OUT OF THE BLUE

Perform songs in three languages and have a versatile repertoire of over 700 songs across many genres.

Out of the blue are available as a Duo / Trio / Quartet / Quintet / Sextet and Tribute show.
