POETRY SLAM

Got something to say? The search is on for Queensland’s best spoken word poet. Speak, scream, howl or sing your original poem at the Australian Poetry Slam – Queensland heats – an electric live event where the audience is the judge! Heat winners will compete in the State finals at the State Library of Queensland on 22 October.

So what is a slam? Slams are an electric spoken word showcase. This event is open to anyone with something to say. Maximum of 20 participants, sign-up is 30-minutes before show time, first in, best dressed. You’ve got two minutes, a microphone and the live audience as your judge. Come and join the poetic love in with Tessa Leon, Coordinator of the Australian Poetry Slam 2010.
