Kirsty Densmore

English by birth, Australian by choice, Kirsty has a background in event management and administration. Currently studying for a BA (Internet Communications) she is also a budding photographer and web designer. Kirsty has a large network of contacts in the Cassowary Coast region made during various events and festivals she has managed in the last five years living on the Cassowary Coast and for some years prior working in Cairns.
Kirsty works as an independent event / project manager in the Cassowary Coast.
Kirsty currently holds the positions of:
• Festival Manager, Feast of the Senses
o From 2010 to 2013, 2015 to 2017. This is the premier regional festival in the Cassowary Coast involving three showcase events, up to nine smaller events and an annual budget of $250k. • Event Manager, Skills Day Out Cassowary Coast
o From 2010 to current. This event is an interactive skills expo attracting in 2013, 60 exhibitors and 800 attendees. The event has grown three-fold in the last five years and is now the premier skills expo on the Cassowary Coast. Photos from 2014 available at: https://youtu.be/bdPmk7nEwWY

• Festival Manager, Festival of Innisfail
o Inaugural event in 2015, this was put together in six weeks with a very limited budget under the auspices of the Innisfail Chamber of Commerce. I was responsible for all aspects of the festival including sponsorship, advertising and budgets. Also involved in various community groups Kirsty is a member of and the publicity officer for the Cassowary Coast Camera Club and has recently been involved in several not for profit events including:
• Vice-President, Innisfail District Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism Inc. Taking office in August 2014 as secretary. To date the current executive has commissioned a Strategic Plan for the next five years, organised the Festival of Innisfail, re-opened the Visitor Information Centre amongst other projects.
• Locks Off Innisfail : four local women (including Kirsty) achieve a milestone birthday in 2014 and celebrate being cancer free by shaving their heads and raising just over $13,000. • PCYC Annual Time4Kids fund raising. This involved ‘locking up’ various local identities who were then responsible for raising their ‘Bail money’. 25 local identities took part and $2,500 was raised. Kirsty was responsible for recruitment of identities and running the event on the day, which was part of the 2014 Feast of the Senses Market Day. • Involved in rock and roll dancing, Kirsty and her husband Martin are past administrators of the Cairns Rock and Roll Club and now enjoy social dancing with some teaching at the Wangan Rockers Groups, occasionally taking part in public demonstrations of dance. Each year she also puts together a photo record of the year.

• Kirsty has won various local photography competitions including the Portrait category at the Mission Arts Photographic Stills Competition and Champion Print of Show, Innisfail Show in 2015
