Seven piece band formed in 2010, playing Originals from the album 'Part of Life' and a selection of popular Reggae, Roots, Rocksteady and RnB covers including, Marley,UB40 and Jah Cure. Currently working on the second album.
LONNIE PEDRO- Chief Songwriter, Vocal and guitar
From the rich culture of St Paul in the Torres Strait, Lonnie has large collection of songs to enrich the Tropical North Queensland music scene. UMI Reggae had its inception when the groups flights returning from Raggamuffin 2010 concert in Brisbane was delayed. It has become the theme song for the UMI markets held once a month on the Cairns Esplanade for local Indigenous artists to sell direct to the public.
CONNIE PEDRO - Lonnie's twin Bro on Percussion.
SIMONE STACEY - Ultimate vocal currently on ITV singing 'Are we There Yet' with The Last Kinection. Previously 'Shakaya'.

DEB SISSON- Keyboards and Backing vocals
Presently a music teacher at Tropical North Queensland Tafe and an accomplished musician, she was instrumental in starting some memorable indigenous bands such as- Broken Inglish and One Drop Reggae Band, (Cairns), Talkin Story (Newcastle)and Forte(the original Shakaya). She has been a valuable member of various bands including Skank, I&I Reggae, Rita Mills and The Descendants, Fade to Black and Has Played On 10 CDs Including JJJ With The Naturals Mystics, Miles Bing Ilan Talk, The Last Kinection- Nutchus and Zenniths new album Nothin to Lose.
NIGEL PERERA- Bass Guitar
Melodious and innovative bass lines plus the well hewn skill of this musician, Nigel is Sri Lankan and has played in most reggae bands of North Queensland bringing that wealth of experience. He has also composed and performed music for major theatre productions and performs experimental music as well as producing artists such as Terry Cassel, D Kaz Man, who now heads Dubmarine.
MOSES WARUSAM- Lead and acoustic guitar
Hailing from Sabai Is and recently graduating from Tropical North Queensland Tafe Diploma of Music, Moses is admired for his passionate guitar solos, tasteful licks and technical expertise. His song Marcelo is featured on Listen Up album.
