The Venus Project
Acoustic/ Alternative/Rock Trio
The Venus Project is an acoustic/alternative band based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. The band formed in early 2009 with 3 members consisting of Nick Glanville, Guy Richards and Dean Gordon. All bring to the band a completely different feel and take on music to finally produce one unique type of sound. The band takes inspiration from a number of sources and bands ranging from soft folk to heavy alternative.
In early 2010, the band reached #7 in the overall Triple J Unearthed charts and #1 in the Indie charts and held these positions for a couple of weeks. They then went on to support Pseudo Echo for two nights in April at Vertigo Bar, headline Tanks Unplugged in May and reach the finals for the Cooked in Cairns - Jimmy Barnes support slot competition.
The trio is available for 5 hours of cover and original gigs.
