ADFAS Cairns presents an illustrated talk by JOHN BROADLEY on Le Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte.
In the reign of King Louis XIV a member of the French Parliament, Nicolas Fouquet built a grand chateau lavishly decorated and hung with priceless artwork which became a curiosity for the French elite.
The King was not amused by a mere parliamentary member upstaging his Majesty! Find out what happened to Fouquet and his elaborate domain.
