April in the Alps (and International Yodelling Competition)

The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe, and stretch approximately 1,200 km across eight Alpine countries (from west to east): France, Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, and Slovenia.

So they are BIG. So is the night in the German Club Cairns when we travel to the Alps for a very mountainy night of food and entertainment, friends and family fun and a couple of amazing features:
• 100th performance of the Oompah Band with traditional music and dancing, group and participation dancing;
• Pork Knuckle from the kitchen;
• Alpine specials at the bar;
• Enzian Kids dancers, bell ringers and the Enzian Bavarian dancers; and
• The first annual Cairns International Yodelling Championships with children’s and adult divisions.

Can you yodel?

The vocal break that marks what most of us think of as "yodelling" has a hypnotic quality. Though this practice of singing without words is rooted in a particular time and place, it's not stuck in time. SO whether you are a first-timer, experienced country singer or an import from the Alps of Europe get stuck in. It will be amazing.
