Benn Manie began performing as a soloist at the age of seven in local productions, encouraged by family and his vocal coach Peg Hampton. He started playing guitar and writing original lyrical songs at age thirteen and, through high school, performed in a duo with Paul Furlong doing original songs, touring up and down the East Coast of Australia.

As lead vocalist for the popular independent touring and recording rock outfit "WILDLIFE", Benn wrote the award winning song Black or White and co-wrote their Albums with Steve Petratos. They shared the stage with acts such as Cliff Richard, Larry Norman, Servant, DeGarmo and Key Band, and toured the East Coast playing venues from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Festival Hall in Melbourne to far flung Queensland country pubs and clubs.

Benn has performed and recorded with many top musicians including two years in a duo with renowned guitarist Kim Churchill, as a founding member of independent world music band "Rivertribe", and many years with outstanding guitarist Tony Gadsby.

Benn's music is a meeting of the obvious and the subtle, the humorous and the introspective, the simple and the structured. His folk-based pop is uplifting and evocative.
