When starting out in music some 20 years ago I was the bassist for Newcastle bands The Goddards and The Bloodloop Beautiful. In 2000 I formed a band in Cairns called The Killer Beez. I grew into a songwriter and had many great years fronting TKB’z. We were fortunate enough to score supports for The John Butler Trio, Paul Kelly, Alex Lloyd, Pete Murray and INXS. We played hundreds of pub gigs and did some touring to Victoria and sth east QLD. I had hundreds of great nights at the open mic nights at The Greenant Cantina in Cairns. For the time being I am without band. As my wife and I are traveling Australia in our little campervan, I am again writing. I am recording in the back of the van and in borrowed spaces. With the benefit of modern technology I can achieve great sound quality with very few tools. My acoustic guitar, a MacBook, a Rode NT3 mic and dropping in on my brother James. He adds guitar tracks and does some backings. He also knows folks who will sit in, back up. Nadine Quinn sings the female harmony on Miss you - (the mellow version). James did the mastering for The Taste Of The Wind. Because of the advent of Tunecore, as an independent artist living in the big outside, I can make my music available to the global online audience. Being able to promote and sell music online is cool! This in part inspires me to continue writing, releasing and exploring new ways to share my music. I write because I must. To share what I write is a dream. 'Miss You - The Mellow Acoustic Song' has been selected (by AMRAP) for distribution to community radio station Australia wide. It begins airplay as of June. 'The Taste Of The Wind' is the second in a series of new singles I am releasing. It is receiving a lot of support and is a song very close to my heart. I am releasing a series of singles as I travel over the coming year. A travel journal of sorts. Any interest in me can be followed up by joining me on myspace. My past catalogue (including tracks with The Killer Beez), is now available through iTunes and many other online stores. Love The Music x

Gig Highlights |
Greatest night of my musical life to date was opening for The John Butler Trio at the Kuranda Amphitheatre in October 2003. The JBT went off and we were so lucky to be able to sit quietly on the stage side and watch in awe. I get goose bumps recounting that night. |
