Set in an infinite ocean, floating in the unknowable spaces between each other, together we create worlds, uncover mysteries, and fill in the blanks in each other’s stories.

Part mystery, part game, Adrift brings audience members together to uncover a story that explores feelings of isolation and our fraught relationship with nature in the face of a potential mass extinction event.

Following instructions through their headsets, together participants create detailed worlds by manipulating objects as tiny architecture reveals itself. Lights turn on, water emerges, and mechanical discoveries are made. Here, we share a series of fantastical true stories - of infatuated dolphins, lonely whales, and remote lighthouses.

Is our relationship with nature just as fraught as our relationships with each other?

AUDIENCE WARNINGS:

Prepare for the unexpected:
-We recommend wearing flat shoes.
-Pack light - all belongings, including phones and watches, will be stored by the Cairns Performing Arts Centre during the performance.
-Recommended arrival no later than 30 minutes prior to the performance.
