Chris has been a professional musician for 40 years, both in the UK and Australia. He plays bass, guitar and keyboards, and saw success in the 1970s and 80s with British bands Hunter and Demon, as well as being in demand as a session musician. Now resident in Cairns, he regularly hosts sessions at 12 Bar Blue, on Shields St, and accompanies many Cairns musicians, including James Braithwaite, Leanne Tennant and Chris Oakshott. He has recently formed a duo with accomplished singer and musician Sadie Jones; their early performances have received a warm reception. He intends to stop wandering around the world, and stay in Cairns forever.

| Anything that\'s good music. Chris feels that "genres" are all very well, but thinks the music speaks louder than words used to describe it. If he had to quote any particular musicians as influences, he would probably choose Jaco Pastorius, Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, CSNY, James Taylor, Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, Steely Dan, and his mum and dad. |
