FLAME 2024 - FLAME VISUAL MENTORING PROGRAM EXHIBITION

FLAME 2024 is the exhibition outcome of the FLAME Visual mentorship program, providing young artists with arts industry professional development.

For eight years now the FLAME Visual mentorship program has been supporting young creatives to continue an arts practice after leaving school, providing opportunities to meet and work with other creatives in the region and to engage with the local arts sector.

Tanks Arts Centre recruited six professional artists from the Cairns Region; Jack Wilkie-Jans, Julie McEnerny, Kevin Mayo, Kylie Burke, Pam Kusabs and Roland Nancarrow, to mentor the emerging artists over a three-month period and work together towards this exhibition.

During the mentorship, the young artists learned new skills under the guidance of the mentors, demonstrably building their confidence in their creative abilities and artistic expressions. Keep an eye on these artists; this exhibition marks their confident launch onto the scene.
