Beautiful harmonies and exquisite guitar playing from this duo!
Ex Perth-based, with their sleek production and a distinctive sound. Harmonique, through long, dedicated hours of arranging and rehearsal (and a few performances along the way), have developed a unique sound, with an emphasis on vocal harmony and captive arrangements.
"We have a wide repertoire ranging from oldtime, blues and easy listening, to funk, rock and grunge, to pop and current chart hits. We write and perform our own original music as well if you would like to experience something fresh and new. In fact, we can tailor our performance to suit your needs based on our three main "styles".
THE HARMONIQUE FLAVOUR: Music and songs we have made our own, by adding smooth harmonies, cool interpretations and arrangements, or because they are just excellent songs we love, songs that are us :-) These include songs from Nirvana, Soundgarden, RHCP, Audioslave, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, India Arie and of course Harmonique.
POPULAR CLASSICS: Music that is timeless, such as party anthems, drive time favourites, and songs we all love to hear no matter where we are. Material from artists including The Doobie Brothers, Crowded House, Hoodoo Gurus, Van Morrison, The Who, INXS, and David Bowie to name a few.
OLDTIME: Music and tunes from many decades past that are still loved to this day, including traditional songs, show tunes, old blues, jazz classics and ballads. Some of the artists covered are Frank Sinatra, Dusty Springfield, Sammy Davis Junior, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and many others that our older, more experienced friends and family members would love and remember well :-) "
The Musicians:
Andrew (main guitar and vocals) has been playing and performing on the Perth music scene for over 25 years. He has been in many different acts from solo gigs, to rock bands like DV8 and Heavy Duty, through to jazz and big band shows. He has been teaching guitar for over 25 years, and has studied at the WA Conservatorium of Music.
Clare (lead vocals and supporting guitar) has been singing and performing for over 15 years. Originally from Far North Queensland, she has played with numerous acts ranging from acapella groups to large shows supporting and playing with Billy Thorpe, the Screaming Jets, and Ian Moss to name a few. She has recently been playing with local artist Ben Bernal.
