Led by singer/ songwriter Trish Molloy, and featuring Nick Emtage's heartfelt trumpet, In The Wild Wood hale from the hills of far north Queensland, and are best known for their smoky, moody, sepia toned deep folk music. Inspired by storytellers from Gillian Welsh and Townes Van Sant, to Tom Waits and Dr John, and of course, the prolific Anon., In The Wild Wood cross the boundaries between folky Irish and American heartlands murder ballads, into gypsy swing, blues, and a bit of circus waltz, telling ghostly tales and darkly comic tragedies, and sweet snippets of life from far northern Australia. In The Wild Wood are resident band for The Kurandacoots Physical Theatre Company and play with various performance projects, music and poetry fusions, and immersive multi-disciplinary arts experiences.
