Biography

Multi-talented Julia Starr presents a variety of music genres and proves in every performance the reason why she was awarded in the top twenty in Australasia in the Starmaker Quest. Her high energy performance creates a truly memorable experience for all venue guests. A popular performer, Julia has released three original albums which have achieved chart success in Australia and Europe.

Julia Starr plays acoustic rhythm with lead breaks played on both original and popular blues and country rock standards which have inspired her musical journey. She also plays blues harp, Ganjo and ukelele- and can hold her own as a solo performer on any stage. Her music performance style can be a mix of west side Chicago blues, country folk and modern beat-ballads. Her self-produced albums speak for themselves so have a listen to the diverse talents and different instruments she plays.A versatile performer indeed!

Julia Starr has played at the high-end of the performance market – supporting the best of the best, at capacity, festival crowds (Tamworth, Blue Water, Tocal, Berry Springs and Darwin Casino) through to regular gigs at the best clubs and venues, all over Australia including Top Class resorts All Seasons and the Casino. She has appeared on NBN news, community TV Sydney songwriters show and has a vast memoir of media releases available. Audiences enjoy Julia’s personable approach to presenting and performance, which is highly professional and polished.

Julia Starr is currently recording a new album project – number 4 – for release early 2016, which contains 12 new songs.

Julia is now based in Cairns and owns The Musician's Café, a brand new, popular tourism attraction at Kuranda Village.
The café celebrates all things musical and pays tribute to the great musicians of our time. The venue provides the best food and coffee in town, with a stage for songriters and special events.

Julia grew up listening to the sounds of jazz, Australian country music and Americana.

Julia Has performed some big shows. A great memory was performing to thousands, solo, at the closing Sydney Olympics ceremony. A recent show: Ladies Sing The Blues, also counts as a heart felt moment in her career.
