Laurel McKenzie has exhibited widely over a 4-decade timespan, with solo exhibitions, numerous small group and invitation/prize/traveling exhibitions within Australia and internationally. Her work is represented in public and private collections in Australia and overseas. Using mixed media and installation, she creates work with a feminist focus. Her practice critiques images of women from art history and popular media, deploying objectifying imagery back on itself as an empowering tactic. |
