As we draw near to the time in which we will commemorate the end of the 1st World War the NQ Chamber Orchestra will present “Lights of Hope” featuring music written in the period between the two World Wars – the 1920’s and 30’s. In this often dark period of world history music provided for many relief, hope and inspiration.
The diverse music presented in Lights of Hope will cover many musical styles and countries from Finzi’s England, to Wiren’s Sweden and Resphigi’s Italian take on Ancient Dances.
Our Soloist for this concert – Rob Woodward will perform the dramatic concerto for Alto Sax and String Orchestra by the Russian composer, Glazunov. Rob has had a diverse career as a sax player, performing across a range of styles as a band member, cruise ship musician and backing artist for celebrity musicians.
