Born in Italy plays the guitar since he was 14 y.o. At the beginning played solo and in a band of 4 guitars. Then for 5 years played saxophone in a band called The Wasted. Then after some years travelling played with his own band his original songs in a group called Walter (damedo) Rossi. With this name the first record, in 1993. From 1996 the band changed name to Deva Rafeek Band and from then played in pubs, theaters and festivals in Italy, and recorded 2 home production cds. In 2000 he toured India and Australia, busking at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. On his way back to Europe he stopped in India again, where he played at the Pritvi Theater in Mumbai, the Pune University and few gigs at the Osho International Commune in Pune, now Osho Meditation Resort. In 2001, back in Italy, he played with the Deva Rafeek Band and the last concert he had there was in 2003. In the meantime he recorded 6 (six) more home production cds, one of them in english. He played in pubs in Thailand, Philippine and Bali. Since 2004 he lives in Cairns, where he played at different enviromental and multicultural festivals (in Kuranda, at the Tanks, on the Esplanade) and for the Italian Community in the Tablelands. A couple of years a go he cut the tendon of his left middle finger, so now is back ready to play again.

Influences
Grown up listening to Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Crosby-Still-Nash&Young, John Denver and italian songwriters of the like of Lucio Battisti, Fabrizio De Andre, Lucio Dalla, Francesco De Gregori, Vecchioni, Venditti. All these musicians-songwriters make the mix of his music,with Indian influences thanks the time he spent in India, so the influence is a mix of Mediterrean music with the Himalayan sounds.
Gig Highlights
He loves to play his original songs. He wrote more then 130 songs, approx 15 in english. Plays romantic poetic ballads and some lively up beat toe-tapping tunes. He also plays harmonica during his concerts and loves to share the stage space with other musicians.
