Band Bio ;

Our style is cruisy and easy listening. It's the kind of music that is engaging and gets your toe tapping without being overpowering or putting you to sleep.
We play a range of styles including classic rock, reggae and alternative. We like to play tunes that are well known, but with a roughstone "twist" that sets us apart from other duos around town. We love playing Australian and Kiwi songs, and throw in the occasional original as well.

Roughstones instrumentation is Lead and back up Vocals, Keboard, Guitar, stomp box and loop pedal.

Personal bio ;

Lianne O'Malley

I have always loved music and have been playing the piano and singing since I can remember. In my twenties I joined a 5-piece band called Scenic Drive in Auckland, where I did back up vocals, tambourine bashing and keys. After moving to Cairns, I dabbled as a chorus member in a stage show called Miss Saigon with the Cairns Choral Society. After this a few show members started a dinner theatre production and through this I met Jen. We have been jamming ever since. I love music that evokes emotion, and am influenced by artists such as Coldplay, Tiki Taane, Bic Runga and Missy Higgins.

Jen Fengler

My love of playing music started when i was 5, on the organ, then clarinet in the concert band where i was given the opportunity to play drums which have been my main passion ever since, although i love the guitar and bass too! I played in several cover bands doing the Newcastle/Sydney pub and club circuit whilst studying Classical Music at Newcastle Conservatorium. I made the move to Lismore to complete a Bachelor of Contemporary Music where i had the opportunity to play in a variety of rock, reggae, soul, latino, afro cuban and jazz bands. I moved to cairns 5 years ago and now call Cairns home, having met awesome people and musicians such as Lianne O'Malley. I am a full time musician, teaching in schools and privately in the daylight hours and playing music by evening. Roughstone is my main project and i am currently the Drummer for The hot and wet Swing set and Clarktown.
