THE POETS
Sometimes, the planets align perfectly so those who are meant to meet...do. Such is the story of The Poets...a trio of musical, creative souls who all met by being in the same place at the same time.
Jonathon Sebastian Robinson (the quirky guy who plays the guitar upside down), Will Achilles (the steady as a rock drummer) and Aleta Tulk (the funky bass chick) all stumbled across each whilst studying music at TAFE in Cairns.
Featuring the original songs of Jonathon plus some cool covers, The Poets sound is slightly left of centre of the mainstream but still crowd-pleasing with influences in rock, pop, funk, punk and jazz.
The Poets have had mainstage appearances at Tablelands Folk Festival, Recognition Day Concert, Balcony TV Cairns , Cairns Esplanade and are the host band of the weekly Jam night at Grand Hotel Cairns, every Thursday night 7 til 11pm
They also perform as The Poets Duo at cafes, restaurants, smaller bars and are available as the trio for corporate shows and events with their more cruisy, classy Jazz version of band
