The Young Art! are a fresh young band to hit the music scene in Australia. At the age of only 16, the three members have already written, recorded and released a 5 track EP under their previous title Sick of The Silence?? and have since sold over a thousand copies to an international audience.
Since the age of 13 the three schoolmates Brad Stephenson, Casey Shipp and Sony Sando have been exploring sounds, writing music and performing at every opportunity that comes their way. Their unique style has slowly evolved from the early days of gleaming pop rock into a very mature and organic blend of folk, rock and indie sounds. In the new wave of a global folk movement, The Young Art! effortlessly stand out with their own spin of delicate acoustic textures, rich folk melodies and intense builds. Since performing under their new title The Young Art! the band has won the hearts of their audiences with their fresh melodies, the way they engaged with their instruments, each other and their crowds.
Having shared the mainstage at nearly all of the Far North Queensland music festivals, The Young Art! has been able to play alongside and network with a variety of established bands such as Birds of Tokyo, Bluejuice, Butterfly effect, Jungle Giants, Ballpark Music, The Medics, Calling All Cars & Gomez.
In Late 2012, The Young art were selected as the front page feature for North Queensland streetpress magazine Mayham. This created a massive boost for the band in their region, as their image was seen in every caf?©, music shop and a range of other venues across the region.
In early 2013 The Young Art! teamed with local Cairns producer Mark Myers (The Middle East) to record their new single Mend. Having recently released this single for free release it has exploded into the hands of thousands of people with an incredible response. The young trio are already back into the studio recording some new tracks and are keen to keep pushing their musical horizons to deliver honest, rich and clever tunes that resonate with any listener's ear.
