Understory Film Festival is an annual short film festival celebrating the best emerging and established filmmakers of North Queensland. 2023 marked a decade of the festival with the addition of a subsidiary event for school students, Understory High. Over the decade, the event has received over 500 film submissions and presented over 100 awards.

The remarkable creativity and passion of the region’s filmmakers deserve to be seen more than once, thus Tank 4’s Tiny Cinema was set up for your viewing pleasure.

Immerse yourself in the diverse line-up, including gripping horror comedies, captivating documentaries, catchy music videos, quirky animations, and more – all showcased on a loop for your enjoyment.
