Melbourne based artist, Vicki Soar, celebrates the creative women of Cairns through portraiture.

Vicki will be attached to the FLAME.VIS ARTS mentorship program, her main subjects being the generous and talented artists who mentor young women at the beginning of their practice. From her studio in Tank 4, Vicki will create a series of paintings to be included in the FLAME exhibition, celebrating International Women’s Day.

“I am grateful to have worked as an art therapist in many diverse settings. Seeing individuals overcome challenges and grow through art making has solidified my belief that art is a powerful tool to empower, inspire and heal."
