Future Tense: Queer World-Building reframes Pride not as a retrospective, but as a speculative and resistant act that looks to queer futures as evolving, unfinished, and shaped by care, kinship, and disruption. The show asks: What do we want to inherit? What do we choose to remember? And how might we build something collective, tender, and defiantly alive in the face of uncertainty?

Featuring work by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Sistergirl, and Brotherboy artists, this exhibition builds on over a decade of queer creative practice at Cairns Pride. It honours that legacy by carrying it forward through futures shaped by disruption, care, and the radical possibilities of queer imagination.

Launch: 6pm, Saturday 11 October – all welcome.
